Montana winters cut usable daylight to as few as eight hours and deposit heavy snow on panel arrays, reducing output significantly. Battery bank capacity is specified in usable kilowatt-hours to cover two to three days of full load without solar input. The backup generator is sized to recharge the bank and run critical loads simultaneously, not just to bridge a short gap. Wiring, conduit, and mounting hardware are installed to the load calculation spec, and the system is commissioned with a full load test before sign-off.
